Half #2...done and done!

PR at the Hyannis Half!!! Official time to come, but looks like I finished around 2:10...beating my previous time by about 15 minutes...I felt great...and STRONG right through to the end...great momentum leading into the toughest month of training...

Post race with my new medal...gorgeous day...shorts weather with temps in the 40's...and NO RAIN OR SNOW...just a perfect day for a run....and I enjoyed every minute of it!Me with my medal again...so proud...amazing how great it feels when you finish...such a sense of accomplishment...I am sure my eyes will be filled with tears post Boston!!!
My parents are AMAZING!!! they surprised me on the course to cheer me on...gave me a huge boost and the support I needed to push through....They have always been my biggest fans and they proved it again today...I love you guys!!!

So I apologize...it's been quite some time since my last post..actually it was following the fundraising party, so I guess a month ago...yikes time flies by!!! No excuses...but we had some Internet issues at the house and time got away from me!

But I am back, and excited to share the next 2 months with you all...actually less than 2 months till marathon Monday...crazy! I did have a rough February...much less running with a crazy work month and a few weeks of bad health...but I battled back the last week or so, and stepped it up today with a PR in the half...so now its go time for March...tons of miles ahead of me, and then I will taper down come April till the BIG DAY!!!
Resting tonight with my feet up on the couch...some cross training tomorrow...and then back it Tuesday with a 5 mile run...check back later in the week for a fresh update...promise!!!

  1. Keep up the great work Kel! You are awesome!!!

Looking forward to reading the rest of your training away. Your journey is so inspirational!

I'm doing a 5 K next weekend, but just the race-walk version. When I start whining about it I need to remember that it is nothing compared to your half let alone to the whole marathon.
