I did it!!! Finished a tough 20 miles...my longest run EVER and the longest before the big day....what a day...the WIND was out of control...in our face most of the run...made it seem like an extra 6.2 miles!!! Started out to fast, it is soo tough to start off slow at my pace. Everyone starts off excited and energized it is tough to slow down and run smart...but I learned a good lesson the last few races, and I know how important it will be to stick to my game plan and my pace if I want to get through Boston...
At mile 6 or so, I felt like quitting...couldn't breathe, legs were already tight and tired...but I knew I had to finish or I wouldnt be able to get through the marathon...so I kept at it...and ran into an amazing group of ladies running together...they helped pace me and more importantly took my mind off the running...they saved my run...I eventually fell behind and ran into another amazing runner with Boston experience...we struggled to the end together...forever bonded by that amazing pain that hits around mile 20...thanks Marcie!!!
So...here I am less then a month away....and 20 miles under my belt...phew! It is all taper from here folks...rest up...eat healthy...get some solid runs in..and I will be good to go Marathon Monday...
Thanks to all of you for your support along the way...couldn't do it without you guys!
The next few weeks will be very exciting...keep checking back on my journey as race day gets closer..
