C.A. of the Week

I wanted to find a way to start sharing stories of other compassionate adventurers; people out there making a difference and living every day to it's fullest...so I will post a story of somebody doing just that once a week: my Compassionate Adventurer of the Week: or my C.A. of the Week

Meet: Amelia DeCesare, Racing for Ron

“It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.”

Amey is living those words daily: Having decided to stop her training back in 2010 after her last race...she was suddenly refocused by the news that her future brother in law was diagnosed with cancer...instead of sitting back she decided to do something about it! So she got back to it and signed up for the Crabman Sprint Triathalon and is raising money and awareness along the way for the Colon Cancer Alliance, a non-profit group that works to increase screening rates and survivorship. Not just some money; she pledged to raise $2,500. To date Amey has raised $1,856 and with 4 weeks to go she is showing no signs of slowing down. If you are inspired by Amey's story check out her fundraising page and help make a difference!
