And I am back...

Hope you didn't think I was through with the Compassionate Adventurer...That is certainly not the case...My adventures begin again with the summer here...and although I had plenty of adventures over the winter, they just didn't quite make the blog...

So what is in store for this summer!?

I already crossed an item off the bucket list with my first surf lesson on the Cape Cod National Seashore...Sorry no pictures of me on the board...but I did grab this great shot of the fire road leading to the beach...

    (not me yet!!!)

Cape Cod isn't the best known area for surfing, but that may be a misconception...surfing is alive and well as quoted:

"Cape Cod surfing is often overlooked, but it has been alive and kicking for decades, and those who know best keep coming back. For old-school surfing on Cape Cod, the Outer Cape — from Orleans to Truro — hosts the best breaks."

We met with Rob from FUNSEEKERS (who was amazing!!) at Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro.  It was absolutely beautiful surrounded by dunes, with a ship wreck starting to surface, and seals swimming close to shore...I have to admit the seals made me nervous for sharks...I am both fascinated and scared to death of sharks, (Shark Week is my favorite week on television).  But I know it takes more than a few seals to attract the mean guys...and it is too cold yet!!!  The surf lesson included a wet suit...thank god as the water was COLD...but with the wet suit we were awesome for 2 full hours...and WE BOTH GOT UP!!! and I AM HOOKED...so stay tuned for pics this season with me on my board...I don't own one yet...but feel like it might  be coming!

As for the rest of the summer...stay tuned...but lots in the works: paddle boarding, CO hiking trip to climb our first 14k footer...more surfing...more hiking....lots of fun and adventure!!!

Get out there!!
