Been a few days since I posted...Internet issues on the home computer...but I HAVE been running...participated in my first Tufts 10k event...certainly empowering to run with 8,000 other female runners! It was a lot of fun, but the course was crowded the whole run....made it really tough to get into a comfortable pace but I ended up with a solid time as I continue to improve my pace...official time: 1 hour and 6 minutes; pace of 10:40....I was hoping for closer to 10 minutes but still a solid run...
Thanks to all those who made an effort to come see me...Special thanks to Maggie for taking time away from those law books to cheer me on...great to have a big HUG at the finish...
I took the day after off, but I am back out there today for a 5 miler after work...and the BIG half marathon is this coming Sunday....I am nervous and excited...but I guess I would say more nervous than anything...I have prepared and my training is where it should be, but I have yet to break the 10 mile mark and 13 just scares me! So keep the encouragement and motivation coming my way...by Saturday I will certainly need it!!
As the temperatures drop and the daylight becomes more scarce it is becoming a bit more fun, I hope I am saying that come February as I run through snow drifts!! Biggest thing is being prepared with the right gear...good thing I work at City Sports...I got some new winter pieces..thanks to mom...but it should help make the cold not bite quite so much....
I am actually thinking it might be fun to start reviewing products on here...so if you are running through the winter as well...keep checking back so I can give you the scoop on what works and what doesn't...stay tuned:
Pictures of the event on Monday should make their way on here in the coming days when I get my hands on them....should be interesting I am sure...I am not exactly photogenic and especially not when I am running...YIKES!!
