Been a few weeks...Lots of ups and downs the last several weeks in regards to training...Had a rough spell with some tough runs...last Sunday I cut my scheduled long run short...my legs were tight and sore...my breathing rough...so I made a 12 mile run a 5 miler...and I felt HORRIBLE about it afterwards...Felt like I should have just pushed through the pain...made it happen...I felt guilty and started doubting...and then there was Maggie...she told me I did the right thing...listened to my body...the only way I am going to get to the finish line April 19th is to stay healthy and strong...I need to listen to my body and adapt my training...and so I did....the next day I felt better....and after a long Monday at work...I ran my 12...well actually 13 well into the evening hours...It certainly wasn't easy...one of the toughest runs to date...but I made it to the finish...and I felt proud...after a good training lesson from the Magster...listen to my body!!!
This week...my runs continued to be tough...my 3 miles was slow...barely made it through 5 miles on Thursday...I rested up Friday..and FINALLY a good strong run today...6 miles at a solid pace...
So...whats next....8am run tomorrow...taking the train out to Woodland...the start of the infamous hills....to run the last 9 miles of the marathon course...nervous about the hills...but the more time I spend running them, and the course...the more prepared I will be for Marathon Monday...or at least that's the idea!
My goal for the week is to keep blogging....so stay tuned tomorrow to see how it goes....
