Mile 16 in Newton...I was hurting as much as the pictures hides it...mentally it was tough...I knew I was in Newton but the 3 big hills including heartbreak were still coming up...Best friend Kate Jersey from DC was at mile 16 to greet me...I used it as an opportunity to walk for a few...regain my strength and head on towards the hills! I crossed over rt 128...and then passed the Woodland T Stop...At the point I knew I could get to the finish...I had done the last 9 as a training route several times..the hills still ahead of me...but confidence I could get through...
Next up: heartbreak hill!!!
The great Ashley Clarke met me around mile 18 and gave me the support to get me through the first of the hills and then I knew I had the best dressed cheering crew of the day awaiting me at the start of heartbreak: my Mom...Jerry..and Goreti suited up as the caring clowns and helped me to the top of the course....they were amazing enough to make it on Boston.com, check out the link!!!

At that point I knew I had it the bag...I was exhausted...every stride was painful...but I knew I could get through it..especially with tons more support awaiting me for the last 5 miles: Sisters, dad, and Bethy were waiting for me at Cleveland Circle...I got a high five from dad and then my sister Jaime jumped in and ran a few miles with me and got me to Kenmore...It was amazing having her run with me...and I hope special for her as well!!! Lots of City Sports all stars on the way as well and the BLC crew at mile 24...I was almost there and with the Citgo sign in sight it was in the bag!
