First shots of the day after getting off the bus heading into athletes village...The first pic was taken before 1 of 3 bathroom trips prior to the start...had to stay hydrated!!! The Adidas signs marked each town along the course...a cool way to count down the miles...loved trying to scope them out along the course...caught a few more on camera as I headed towards Boylston St... The next shot is our starting corral...amazing with 26,000 runners how organized athletes village was and how smoothly we went from the village to the corral to crossing the start in Hopkinton...

I passed dad at mile 2 in Ashland feeling great and fresh...and then headed towards my sisters and cousin bethy waiting for me at mile 6 in framingham...I was sooo happy to see them...The morning was cold but it warmed up quickly so I handed off my arm warmers and gloves and loaded up on shot blocks for some needed energy....at this point my spirits were still high but was starting to feel it in my legs...
I headed towards the toughest part of the race for me...miles 11-16...My legs felt it early on...around mile 11 things started to tighten up and my feet were hurting with each touch of the pavement...but I knew Maggie was waiting for me around mile 13 once I got through Wellesley and that kept me going...along with the Wellesley Screams!!! It's no joke...you can hear the girls screaming from at least 1/2 mile away...and it was a solid 1/2 mile of college girls screaming with signs saying KISS ME...I did resist...although was tempted to play along...but too much energy to go for it..haha! I needed it soooo bad at that point it helped me through the toughest miles of the race as I headed towards Newton....
